Have not had a chance to use it yet

I was very impressed by this piece of art! I did a small test while I was laying in bed after I got some of the protective coatings off, and it sparked, even though I did it straight up in the air, a spark traveled over 10 ft and went out just before It landed on my bed.
I have had many of these Ferris rods, some barely worked. One was a Magnesium Block with a small rod on its spine, but it was extremely tough to get a significant amount of magnesium down. I rarely could get it to spark enough to light the magnesium. The theory is sound because the pile of magnesium would ignite almost anything, even in a hurricane, on fire. But they didn't execute the product correctly. But now, with this rod and other equipment I've accrued over the years, I know how to get a large quantity of magnesium piled up with little effort and can easily ignite it now without worrying about burning my hands and lighting it with a lighter. I will post a video of it soon.
Because of all the different things on the market today to help start a fire in even wet conditions, magnesium isn't as popular, but nothing works like pure Magnesium. When lit, it will burn no matter what. Even underwater, during ignition, it creates Oxygen similar to old nitrocellulose films, which is why they banned it from busses and subways way back when. All the old movies and documentary films of the wars are kept in concrete rooms that are only about 5ftx5ft and above each room is enough water to fill the room to the ceiling, but that is only to keep the temperature down because even when wholly submerged it burns until it is completely consumed, some may have gathered by the name why, for those who don't know Nitro-Cellious was made partly of Nitroglycerin and the cellulose produced 0² as it burned, that's also why so many old movie theaters a long time ago burned down, also why in "Inglorious Bastards" they talked about how many movies She had. She replied with a very enthusiastic "A LOT!"
But back to the Item at hand, I would recommend this to be in everyone's B.O.B., but children should probably be supervised, and in my opinion, probably shouldn't have one of their own except when they are out camping. I only say this because they do throw a lot of sparks with little effort, and kids, being kids, could accidentally start a fire in a place that you wouldn't want!
I plan to buy several more for family members and a few like-minded friends; that's how much I like this product. Combine it with any of the Zippo camping products or Just some dry kindling, and you have one of the essential things needed to survive 2nd to water, but with fire, you can be sure your water is safe to drink. Remember, don't start the 10-minute timer until the water is boiling!

FFR is great compared to other starters I've used. When the FFR arrived I had to try it out and I was truly amazed, it lit the tinder the first or second strike. Great little tool! One heck of a spark.

4999 more strikes to go. Lit kindling on first strike. Can't ask for more than that.

I like the fat ferro rod because, in my opinion, it would be difficult to loose. Vs smaller rods that I've had in the past.

Usually lights first or second strike! Great product!

This is one fantastic fire starter, it puts out more sparks than any other that I have used. And I've used a lot of them. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is an avid outdoorsman or camper of just to have for emergencies. If I could I'd give it ten stars. Thanks for the great products you offe.

Love your store and emails. I have taken advantage of several of your deals. And am probably over stocked in survival gear. If that is even possible. I need to have a survival bag in every vehicle we own to get us home. Way too many people in the Bay Area to seriously even think about an actual bug out location that wouldn’t be undiscovered by lots of other people in the Bay Area. But that is what I get for living in California.

It took me awhile to get it to spark. But I finally brainwork how to use it. Yet I have not been able to get as big of sparks as the ad video.
